Customer

Logistics company for the large retailers in the USA and Canada.

Problem

The company owns a large car fleet with various carrying capacities and fuel consumption levels. To manage the distribution of these cars, the company used its own application. As the number of orders increased, the system struggled to handle the load. For example, it took the application a lot of time to calculate routes with multiple destinations, and it was prone to breaking down. This led to issues with task distribution among cars and carriers, especially when delivering to different states.

Solution

Rubius developed a system for cargo delivery. It includes a web service for managers and a mobile app for carriers.

Managers use the web service to distribute orders, allocate load volume, and monitor the carriers’ locations. Carriers, in turn, rely on the mobile app to accept orders, access route information, and get details about the cargo. Additionally, carriers can record their progress and arrival points for more precise time tracking.

  • Tracking the status and location of orders
  • Assigning and reassigning orders to carriers or routes
  • Assigning orders within a district to a specific carrier
  • Automatic route building
  • Creating and editing delivery routes
  • Generating reports on the time and efficiency of each carrier’s work
  • Rating good carriers

Results

The web service helps managers build the optimal cargo delivery route and track the carrier’s activities. Carriers can easily access delivery terms and efficiently handle orders. As a result of implementing this service, the company can now process up to 5,000 orders per day.
